January 12, 2007ORIS Color Tuner first to adopt new Fogra39 standard All ORIS Color Tuner products and substrates receive FograCert certification Hainberg (January 12, 2007) – CGS, the leader in digital proofing and color workflow automated technology, announces the certification of ORIS Color Tuner and ORIS Color Tuner Personal Edition – in combination with CGS premium proofing papers – by Fogra’s new characterization data set for ISOcoated V2, Fogra39. The standard offset printing condition “ISOcoated” has been optimized even further with Fogra39 to adapt to every-day printing conditions. BVDM (German Printing and Media Association), ECI and Fogra recommend using the new characterization data as of January 2007. CGS immediately reacted to the new standard and certified seven configurations of ORIS contract proofing systems and all CGS proofing papers. The certification, based on ISO 12647-7:2006, was done on an Epson Stylus Pro 4800 representing the entire x800 series – including the new Epson Stylus Pro 3800 – at various resolutions. “CGS has advocated for years the importance of standardization and automation of all processes in the printing industry,” remarked Andreas Kämmerer, CGS GmbH CEO. “This specifically includes a standardized digital contract proof. The recent approval of Color Tuner by ECI just proves that CGS is again leading the way.” CGS will continue in the future to closely cooperate with international independent organizations to promote global color standards. This includes innovative control systems, specifically the newly introduced ORIS Certified Print™, a derivative of the widely successful Quality Assurance system, ORIS Certified Proof™. ORIS Certified Print™ focuses directly on the verification and documentation of all parameters relevant for control of the whole printing process. “CGS offers more than just isolated proofing applications,” commented Kämmerer. “We offer a whole spectrum of color management applications that seamlessly interact with one another – from soft and remote proofing to optimizing color for digital presses. CGS will continue to adopt industry standards and whenever possible we will have all of our systems certified by relevant independent organizations. Our customers expect nothing less.” More information about the tested and certified ORIS Color Tuner systems can be found on the official Fogra web site, www.fogra.org. |
