ORIS Certified Proof  -  Color Facts, No Guesswork!

Product Overview

In any graphic arts business, color quality and consistency are much too valuable to be left to chance. Subjective evaluation is becoming increasingly expensive – in expert labor cost, in lost time, and in potential lost revenue over billing disputes. As printing becomes more process-oriented, color control must become a reliable, measurement-based Quality Assurance (QA) process.

Fortunately, ORIS Certified Proof provides the ideal QA platform for all your color output, from contract proofs to on-screen “virtual” proofs to final press output. Using simple, handheld spectral measuring devices, the software provides simple, trackable results for every proof you produce. From simple “pass-fail” reports to practical, detailed analyses, ORIS Certified Proof removes subjective guesswork from the process, and provides a factual basis for color decisions. Your graphic arts business business will be more efficient, and your customers’ confidence (and repeat business) will increase.

The keys to a good QA system are accuracy and ease of use. ORIS Certified Proof provides both. The system includes test targets and color characterization data for TR001 (SWOP) and FOGRA, and can easily be configured to measure any other standard or specification. The target – a strip containing the critical color patches – is printed in the margin of the contract proof, regardless of what proofing system is used. For each proof, the operator scans the target, and the software does the rest. (For an overview of the ORIS Certified Proof process, click here .)

ORIS Certified Proof is not limited to proofing and spectral color (Lab) values. The software also measures density values, which allows the user to check press sheet quality and control dot gain. In addition, users can also check the quality of monitor calibrations and profiles, by measuring specific colors displayed on screen. The Benefits of Using ORIS Certified Proof

As with any investment, the value of ORIS Certified Proof is in cost savings and revenue enhancement. The system provides both advantages, including:

Increased operational efficiency from ORIS’ fast, automatic proof checking workflow, and its simple “pass-fail” approach to standards compliance.

Lower labor costs and a faster approval process realized by reducing the dependence on subjective color evaluation by publishers, advertisers, prepress shops and printers.

Significant error reduction based on early detection of potential equipment failures, color drift, incorrect paper usage, improper profiles, etc.

Increased reliability of both systems and personnel, thanks to the system’s ability to track performance over time, by identifying specific equipment, operators and color requirements.

Increased customer confidence in the reliability and consistency of the color production process. This results in more repeat business as well as new business opportunities.
