Returning an Item
Returning an Item

We all make mistakes! Sometimes we do and sometimes it’s easy to order an item by mistake.  It’s also just as possible that an item you’ve ordered gets damaged in transit. In each case, we have a returns policy:

Faulty / Damaged / Supplier Error

If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or because the item is faulty or damaged, please call us immediately on 01442 26 26 26 or e-mail This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it putting ‘Returns/Faulty/Damaged/Supplier Error’ in the subject header.

Please include the following information in the body of your email:

  1. The description and product code of the item.
  2. Reason for return (faulty/damaged/supplier error)
  3. Date received
  4. Our invoice number
  5. Your name, company and contact telephone number

We will then issue you with a returns number and form.  Please note the following details for such returns:

All goods to be returned must be accompanied by a Returns Form (we will issue this to you on receipt of your phone call/email)

If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or because it is damaged or faulty, we will arrange collection.

Colourbyte will check all items returned as damaged or faulty.

In the event we find no damage or fault, we reserve the right to withhold the credit for the item.


Replacement goods will only be issued on receipt of the returned item.

All goods deemed faulty will be replaced on a like-for-like basis.  Credits will be issued at our discretion.

Please note that in the case of larger items (e.g. printers) a representative will call to discuss the cause of the fault/extent of the damage before authorizing a replacement product.

Please note that Colourbyte cannot be held responsible for goods damaged or rendered faulty by misuse or Acts of God.  Neither do we accept responsibility for damage caused to any equipment or persons through continued use of faulty goods. Notification for this type of return must be made within 14 days of purchase to be accepted.


Incorrectly Ordered

If you simply mis-order or no longer require an item, please call us immediately on

01442 26 26 26 or email This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it putting ‘Returns – Unwanted/Incorrectly Ordered’ in the subject header.  Please note that we cannot accept the return of any ink product that has less than 6 months left before the expiry date. Notification for this type of return must be made within 7 days of purchase to be accepted.

  1. The description and product code of the item
  2. Reason for return (unwanted/incorrectly ordered)
  3. Date received
  4. Our invoice number
  5. Your name, company and contact telephone number

We will then issue you with a returns number and form.  Please note the following details for such returns:

  • All goods to be returned must be accompanied by a Returns Form (we will issue this to you on receipt of your phone call/e-mail).
  • A handling charge of 20% of the net value of the item (minimum charge of £15) will be levied in addition to the cost of collection.
  • All goods must be returned in saleable condition, ie, original, undamaged packaging.  Goods that have been opened and re-sealed will not be accepted.
  • Once the item is received by Colourbyte and deemed to be in saleable condition, your Credit/Debit card or account will be credited less the handling fee and collection charge.
  • Failure to comply with these terms may result in rejection of your application.
